Upon It All

Our Story isn't new

Our story isn’t new – it’s been flowing like the Trent through generations of makers, innovators, and communities who chose to call Burton home. What we’re doing now is amplifying voices that have always been here, celebrating achievements that deserve recognition, and ensuring the world knows what we’ve always known: Burton is a place where things happen.

What makes Burton special is how we’ve always adapted and evolved while staying true to our roots. From industrial innovations to today’s digital entrepreneurs, Burton remains a place where tradition and transformation work hand in hand. The River Trent still connects us – to the landscape around us and to possibilities beyond.

Steering Group

The Burton upon Trent brand is a collaborative movement, guided by a collection of Burton upon Trent organisations, who have joined forces to develop a strategic approach to promoting and marketing the town. The brand celebrates people, progress and a place where heritage meets innovation, where community thrives, where businesses, students and visitors find opportunity.

In 2025, a Burton upon Trent Steering Group, made up of engaged leaders across the private, public and third sectors, was formed to provide direction and governance, ensuring our approach is representative of the town’s priorities.
